Yahoo News Coronation Street confirms details of Fiz Stape's temporary exit storyline

Coronation Street boss Iain MacLeod has shared details on Fiz Stape’s upcoming temporary exit from the soap.
Fiz will be leaving the cobbles for a while as actress Jennie McAlpine is expecting her third child with husband Chris Farr.
Appearing on Loose Women, MacLeod explained that while Fiz and Tyrone will have to spend time apart, the couple won't be splitting up again.
When asked if Fiz will leave Tyrone, MacLeod said: "Geographically she'll have to! This is one of the weird things about working on a soap.
"When an actor says they're pregnant, obviously the first reaction is, 'Congratulations, that's amazing', but the second one is, 'Right, how are we going to account for their absence?'
"What we didn't want to do is split them [Fiz and Tyrone] up because they've been on again and off again and they've just got married."
MacLeod went on to say that they've even pre-recorded footage of Fiz to play as video calls, so viewers will see her and Tyrone still in contact.

"Fiz will be leaving to cover Jennie's maternity leave, but it will be not acrimonious," he said. "They'll part as friends and they'll try to do the long-distance thing.
"Actually, we've pre-recorded some little bits with Jennie that we're going to play in as video calls, so while she's away we can still see her talking to Tyrone. We're trying to use all the tricks we can to cover it."
McAlpine announced in January that she was six months pregnant with her third child, telling OK!: "We're so over the moon. The thought of adding to our family mix and chaos was the best Christmas present! I'm really excited for 2023 – it'll be a special one.”
