ITV bosses shared a joint Coronation Street and Emmerdale update, and many fans are not happy.

The soaps will undergo a huge schedule shakeup this week, with less Emmerdale than usual. As soap fans will know, Corrie usually airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm, with each episode lasting an hour.

Emmerdale is broadcast each weeknight at 7.30pm, for half an hour, with the exception of Thursdays, when the soap airs for an hour. But this week will see the soaps moved about considerably.

Neither soap will air tonight, as ITV instead provides all the action as Austria take on France in the Euros. The match kicks off at 8pm, and coverage will begin at 7.15pm.

On Tuesday, Emmerdale will air for an hour from 7pm, with Corrie then also on for an hour from 8pm. Wednesday's visit to Emmerdale will take place from 7.30-8pm, with an hour of Corrie to follow.

There'll then be no ITV soaps on Thursday, before a half-hour Emmerdale episode at 7.30pm on Friday, followed by an hour of Coronation Street at 8pm.

A joint post from both soaps' official accounts was shared on Instagram earlier today (Monday), and many soap fans are unhappy with the changes. Jeannette said: "It really really annoys me when the TV schedules are disrupted just for bloody football."

Sally said: "It's a disgrace, stick football on ITV2 and leave the soaps alone", while Ronnie said: "What about the people who don't like football? And no mention of Friday's missing Corrie".
