Coronation Street fans 'work out' Dee-Dee’s real baby father in big twist - and it's not Joel
Coronation Street viewers are convinced the real father of Dee-Dee Sterling’s baby is not Joel Deering. Sicko solicitor Joel (Calum Lill) was killed in September with viewers finally discovering who had murdered him last week. In a shock flashback episode, it was revealed that it was Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) who killed him.
Fans will recall Joel abused and groomed Lauren for months, even getting the youngster pregnant. He then tried to kill both her and their unborn child, before his sick crimes were finally exposed. Joel ended up getting killed off though, sparking a major whodunnit on the ITV soap.
But in Friday’s episode (November 15), it was confirmed that it was Lauren who was the one who delivered the final fatal blow. Along with Max (Paddy Turner), Lauren covered their tracks and chucked Joel over the edge to make it look like suicide. However, Max went on to hand himself in to save Lauren, admitting he killed Joel in self-defence.

Also during the episode, the soap appeared to tease the possibility of Dee-Dee being pregnant. During a showdown with Joel, he bought up the time they had slept together - despite Dee-Dee’s strong beliefs of abstaining from sex until after marriage.
At the time, Dee-Dee was seeking comfort following a visit to pal Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) - who later died following a battle with Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
And in Monday’s instalment (November 18) Dee-Dee took a pregnancy test and discovered she was pregnant. A troubled Dee-Dee reflected on the situation and shared her fears with Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) that she'd always see Joel when raising his child.
However, in what would be a huge twist, fans don’t think Joel is the baby’s father. Sharing their thoughts online, viewers claimed it could actually be Joel’s potential twin.
Viewers have suspected for a while that Joel might have a secret twin. And it seems that theory has emerged following Dee-Dee’s baby bombshell. On a Corrie Facebook fan page, one person said: “Oh no Dee-Dee, pregnant with Joel's baby!" Other viewers soon put forward a wild theory.
A second person mused: “What if Joel didn’t sleep with Dee-Dee and it was actually his identical twin? That twin is now dead, while the real Joel is still alive…” A third replied: “Now this would be some twist.” Another person proclaimed: “I can see this happening! I’ve said it all along Joel is not dead!”
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
