Coronation Street fans have differing opinions on a big change brought in by soap bosses.

Back in 2022, ITV announced it would be changing its soap opera schedule, with Corrie moving to hour-long episodes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm, while Emmerdale was moved to a 7.30pm slot.

However, this week Coronation Street will return to its previous airing time of 7.30pm. As well as this, the long-running ITV soap is being broadcast in five half-hour episodes, with one each night from Monday through to Friday.

Each juicy instalment sees fans move closer and closer to finding out what really happened to missing teenager Lauren Bolton. Tonight's edition saw Nathan Curtis arrested, with forensics examining his van.

But not everyone is keen on the thirty-minute daily episodes. Posting in a group set up by and for Corrie fans, one Facebook user said: "Am I the only one who doesn't like the way Corrie has been shown this week? I [prefer] the tried and tested format. I have found the whole week has been repetitive and disjointed."

Another agreed and said: "Don't like it, find it too confusing" and a second said: "I agree, it's just repeating with slight changes".

However, one woman said: "I'm loving, very cleverly written, can't wait for the next episode" and another said: "I'm really enjoying the different perspectives".
