Coronation Street fans 'had no idea' as they spot DS Lisa Swain star in episode from '90s
Coronation Street viewers were left gobsmacked after spotting DS Lisa Swain star Vicky Myers in a previous episode of the ITV soap.
The actress first appeared as the copper back in 2021, to assist with the Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) rape case. Since then, she’s become a major part of the Corrie cast and firm favourite with viewers.
Especially in the past 12 months, following the disappearance, and return, of Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) - who was abused by sicko solicitor Joel Deering (Calum Lill).
Joel was eventually killed off in September - with a range of Weatherfield residents becoming suspects, including Lisa. However, it was later revealed that it was Lauren who was the one who killed him.

Prior to her stint as DS Lisa Swain, actor Vicky appeared in the likes of Ackley Bridge and Casualty. She also had a main role in the ITV drama The Long Shadow in 2023.
However, fans of the long-running ITV soap are only just realising she appeared on Coronation Street years ago, as a different character. In a TikTok video, one fan shared a clip of the actress on Corrie back in 2010.
The TV star played a driver who was flagged down by Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) to call emergency services after his wife Molly (Vicky Bins) became trapped following their car crash.
And it turns out that’s not the only role Vicky has played on the ITV soap. Back in 2007, she appeared as a paramedic who was called to 4 Coronation Street when a fire broke out. Meanwhile, in her days as a supporting artist, she starred as a nurse at Weatherfield General when Des Barnes died in November 1998.
Fans had a lot to say about Vicky’s past soap stint. In the comments section of the TikTok video, one person said: “Omg never noticed.” Someone else wrote: “I forgot about this!!!!!!” A third chimed in: “How do I not remember this.”
In 2016, Vicky landed her big break in the Harlan Coben series The Five, followed by Channel 4's Ackley Bridge and The Long Shadow. However, her ultimate dream was always to be on Coronation Street.
Vicky, hailing from Stockport, Greater Manchester, told The Mirror: "In the North, as soon as you mention you're an actress, people ask, 'Oh, have you been in Coronation Street' Now I can proudly say I have. On my first day, I walked down the cobbles and I thought, 'I recognise you.' I've grown up watching the show, so it feels like home."
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
