Coronation Street fans issue demand as 'underused' character makes appearance
Coronation Street fans have demanded that Mary Taylor gets more screentime as they claimed the character is 'underused'. The much-loved florist first arrived in on-screen back in 2008.
However, it wasn't until 2010 that Mary moved into the Weatherfield area in 2010 when she parked up her motorhome, won in a competition the year before. She lived there until 2015, when the council warned her that she was illegally encamped following a spiteful tip-off from Todd Grimshaw.
Mary moved into 7 Coronation Street, where she had a job as a nanny to Aadi and Asha Alahan but despite moves over the years, she still remains very much part of Weatherfield and is much-loved among viewers.

So much so, that when she appeared during Wednesday night's (September 18) Corrie, fans were left issuing a demand about the frequency of her current appearances.
Mary was seen delivering some flowers to the Undertakers when Todd became distracted by her footwear. She was more than delighted to show Todd and George Shuttleworth her golden boots with a light-up sole, that she suggested was for when she'd been running through dark alleyways at night.
She was also seen doing a crossword in Roy's Rolls before listening in on Betsy Swain's conversation with her pal Sabrina Adetiba who cryptically hinted she had done something bad.
Following Mary's appearances in the episode, Corrie fans flocked to social media. @corriepodcast said: "Hey, #corrie! Aren’t we due a reminder of how terribly underused Mary is? Oh. There it is. Never mind."
@fansvfavourites commented: "Need Mary to get her own spinoff! she’s literally the only good thing about #Corrie atm and we only see her for a minute every month."@flaxscottz added: "Mary!! Soap’s funniest character has been returned to us #corrie."
