Coronation Street fans 'work out' when Joel Deering is finally killed as resident sent to prison

Coronation Street fans seem to think Joel Deering (played by Callum Lill) could be killed off before he is brought to justice for his crimes. while others think he could finally be brought down.

During the drama-filled episode on Monday, Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) and DS Swain (Vicky Myers) continued their mission to bring Joel down by speaking with another one of his victims.

The dynamic duo spoke with Ellie, who at first was frightened to speak out, but after visiting Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) in the hospital, decided she was going to testify against Joel.

Dee-Dee also paid a visit to Joel's old employer, who forced Ellie to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement regarding her relationship with Joel and any messages sent between them.

However, using her persuasive ways, the lawyer got their corporation and they said they would drop the NDA and support Ellie's claims in court if they needed to.

As the episode came to a close, Dee-Dee couldn't help but taunt Joel - but will his downfall finally be sealed?

When asked if she was busy with work, Dee-Dee replied: "I am always busy, me. I am learning to play the banjo."

"Oh right," Joel said with a baffled expression on his face to which his ex taunted: "Actually, I am getting quite good."

Joel went on: "Well maybe one day I'll see you busking on these streets."

"Maybe, that's assuming you'll be free to walk these streets," Dee-Dee said ominously before walking off.

Fans rushed to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their theories, with one predicting Joel would be killed.

They wrote: "I think Swain will shoot Joel dead. Cop mode on, she’ll do it to protect her women. (Carla, Dee Dee and Betsy)"

Another agreed: "Yes, I definitely think Joel's time is up and he will be killed off!"

"Ellie has done the right thing. Joel's downfall is getting closer," a fourth shared while a fifth agreed: "Oh another Joel victim hopefully take him down #Corrie."

"I really hope it is the beginning of the end for Joel!#Corrie," another stated.

However, if fans' suggestions are true, if Joel is killed, DS Swain will end up in prison....

In another part of the soap, Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) was offered the job of a lifetime by Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney). Debbie told Bethany she might get her big break in journalism by visiting a cosmetic clinic in Turkey.

However, soap bosses have since revealed that things are set to take a turn for Bethany after she opts to try liposuction, but ends up contracting sepsis as a result of a botched procedure.

When discussing her upcoming storyline, Lucy shared: “When I first heard about it I was pleased that they have trusted me with it because it’s an important storyline and of course, I really enjoy doing issue-based storylines. Obviously, this is really hard-hitting, which is exciting from an actor’s point of view, but it does come with quite a lot of pressure and responsibility to get it right because this happens to real-life people.

“The storyline is also incredibly important as there are countless horror stories out there of people talking about their experiences of cosmetic surgery abroad. I really hope this storyline can make people rethink going abroad for cosmetic surgery.”

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV.
