Coronation Street viewers have been speculating about who killed Joel Deering (played by Calum Lill) as the murder mystery is set to be revealed on Friday (November 15). All soap watchers know so far is that Joel was murdered on the night of September 27 and it is believed he was killed with a heavy item such as a crowbar and was found in a river.

The ITV soap will air a special episode where viewers will see exactly what happened on the night of Joel's death, and the truth will finally be revealed. But some fans are already convinced they know the culprit - Sabrina Adetiba.

In Monday night’s episode, Sabrina paid Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) a visit in hospital, where she wished her the best for her relationship with Max Turner (Paddy Bever).

As Sabrina insisted that Lauren deserved to be happy after everything Joel had put her through, Lauren pointed out that she had very nearly suffered the same fate.

Luana Santos first appeared as Sabrina Adetiba in June 2023, who quickly began a relationship with Max. Earlier this year, she was targeted by Joel who had been grooming and abusing young women.

Thankfully, Sabrina’s friend Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) grew suspicious of Joel’s motives, and managed to steer him away from Sabrina. However, the actress has now confirmed she has left the ITV soap.

Earlier this week, Luana took to her Instagram Stories to announce that these scenes would be her final appearance in the Manchester-based soap, alongside a throwback picture to her very first episode.

But some Corrie fans are convinced Sabrina is Joel's killer and the star's social media post is a red herring. Taking to Reddit, one viewer wrote: "Could the killer be... (The mildest of mild spoilers if you haven't watched Mondays yet) Sabrina?

"We haven't seen her in months and she suddenly pops up now to wish Max and Lauren well, and we've been told the actress has already filmed her final scenes. It's very rarely someone in the official suspect list and she isn't in it, although she had her own near-miss with Joel. Maybe, maybe."

A second added: "If she did kill Joel it would be the most interesting thing she ever did on the show by far. I think this is plausible tbh though, like you say it’s odd that she’s popped up out of nowhere and she also had a near miss with Joel and two friends who were victimised more heavily so it’s not like she’s without motive ."

A third chimed in: "Could be - she's not been seen in months and it was announced she was leaving, which is unusual for a character barely on more than an extra. Then she popped up the other day and gave an emotional hug to Lauren. I don't think it's any of the people we've seen flashbacks from so far, they're all red herrings.."

"It could also mean Sabrina had an accomplice, which would be her brother... and as we know Gav has also left, well this could be a chance to get rid of him in a script writing sense!" added another.
