Coronation Street fans spot Kit Green 'blunder' as he makes arrest in new murder twist

Coronation Street aired another twist in Joel Deering's murder case as DS Lisa Swain was arrested for the crime, but fans instantly spotted a huge problem. During Monday's visit to Weatherfield (November 11), anxious solicitor Dee-Dee Bailey (played by Channique Sterling-Brown) was convinced she was responsible for killing ex-fiancé Joel (Calum Lill).

She confessed to DC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) that she hit Joel with a crowbar in self-defence, then made an anonymous call to Kit the same night. As Dee-Dee detailed her last interaction with Joel, she revealed he had a suitcase with him and that her weapon was in her father Ed's (Trevor Michael Georges) backyard.

Dee-Dee also insisted that Joel wasn't dead when she left him and confirmed he had messaged her after the incident, but Kit wasn't buying her story. Suddenly PC Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) turned up at the station and revealed that the bloodied murder weapon had been found and that it was a rock seemingly putting Dee-Dee out of the frame.

A short while later, DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) was arrested for Joel's murder leaving her newfound friend Carla Connor (Alison King) in shock. Lisa's CS issue spray had been found with the murder weapon, now making her the prime suspect, while a stunned Dee-Dee was released without charge.

But Dee-Dee was suspicious when Kit got defensive over whether he had found Joel himself that night. Kit interviewed Lisa, who provided an alibi - but it didn't tally up with Joel's final moments as the situation looked bleak for Lisa.

However, Corrie fans were quick to comment on Kit's interview with Lisa and suggested he couldn't legally carry out the interrogation as she is ranked above him in the police force.

Taking to X, one fan wrote: "Kit can’t interview Swain it has to be at least one rank above her #Corrie", while a second added: "DS Swain being interviewed by Kit? Shouldn’t it be the other way round? #Corrie."

A third commented: "Corrie They don't do that Line of Duty thing in corrie. DS Swain is entitled to be questioned by an officer at least one rank superior than DC Kit Zodiac smug Green."

"#Corrie no way Kit can interview DS Swain whilst she drunk", pointed out another.

Another chimed in: "Good to see that Kit questioning his superior didn’t make him anymore of an arrogant t*** #Corrie."
