Coronation Street hints at twist in new death storyline
Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street has hinted at a confusing twist in an upcoming death storyline.
Next week will see an unexpected ending for Joel Deering as his death is shockingly announced by DS Swain. However, things are not always as they seem when the scheming villain is involved.
In tonight's (September 27) episode, Dee-Dee Bailey reflected on what would have been her wedding day but has instead become the day of Joel's plea hearing.

Dee-Dee, Ed Bailey, Ronnie Bailey and DS Swain all awaited the verdict, but when Joel failed to show up at court, the judge issued a warrant for his arrest.
With her abuser on the loose, Lauren Bolton was advised to stay with Max Turner for her safety. When DS Swain was distracted, the terrified teen stole a tear-gas spray from her bag.
Meanwhile, a visibly drunk Joel finally made an appearance, locking himself into Roy's Rolls. At first, it seemed as though he had sinister intentions but he quickly began to apologise to Roy Cropper.
"My guilt has taken over me. I feel like I'm suffocating," he told the café owner, noting his involvement in Roy's arrest. Roy tried to encourage Joel to turn himself in to the police, but the villain angrily broke the telephone off the wall.
Thankfully, Joel was interrupted by Carla Connor and sauntered off into an alley. He poured away the bottle of whisky he was holding, and it became clear that he was pretending to be drunk.

Later, Lauren was unsettled when she heard a noise from Max's garden. The pair took a knife and went to investigate, but didn't find anyone outside.
The episode ended with Joel crying in his car. He recorded a message for Dee-Dee, telling her he still loves her.
"I know there's no way back after... after everything, but maybe, maybe there's something I can still do to make you, and everyone else, happy," he pleaded. "I'm so sorry. Bye."
After ending the call, Joel looked at himself in the car mirror, and a large wound was shown across his face. What exactly is Joel planning?
