Since making his debut on Coronation Street aged just 13 years old, Colson has become a regular on the cobbles along with his on-screen mum, Beth Tinker (played by Lisa George). More recently, the soap star started the podcast 'On The Sofa', formerly known as the 'Sofa Cinema Club', with his co-stars Ben Price and Jack P. Shepherd.

And, in one of the latest editions of the podcast, Colson shared how a couple wanted to show their appreciation by naming their baby after him. Reading the letter to Ben and Jack, Colson said: "Hello Colson, how are you? My wife is currently 20 weeks pregnant and we're really excited to let you know that we've decided to name my baby boy Colson, due date 15 December.

"We love Corrie and when we first watched you on Big Brother we thought that was an unusual name and we warmed to you more and more as we watched you in the coming weeks."

They added: "I then googled the definition to find out that it means 'son of Nicholas', and it must be fate, as that is my name and we heard you referring to your dad as 'big Nick'. My wife works in a farm shop and has served Ben Price a couple of times.

"We would love to meet you and perhaps let little Colson meet big Colson." Blown away by the peculiar news, Colson proudly exclaimed that it was the best thing that had ever happened to him, while Jack and Ben shared their disappointment at no one ever taking their names.

Colson made his first appearance on the cobbles as Craig Tinker in August 2011. More recently, in 2024, Colson decided to take a step into reality TV on ITV's Celebrity Big Brother, finishing in third place.
