'Coronation Street' star Lisa George was once homeless after being sacked from job
Coronation Street’s Lisa George has revealed she was once left homeless after getting fired from a job.
The actor – who stars as Beth Sutherland on the cobbles – said it happened more than 20 years ago and that she was “absolutely crushed”.
Opening up on ITV’s Lorraine, George said that growing up she always sang and was very keen on musical theatre.

“I’d just finished off tour and I was in this show, a new show which was at Blackpool with a few stars and everything, and they sacked me and said I couldn’t sing!" she told Ranvir Singh, who was filling in for Lorraine Kelly.
“I lost the money, I was homeless.”
With no salary and nowhere to live, the star had to go back home to her mum and dad’s.
“I didn’t open my mouth,” she said. “I didn’t sing. I was absolutely crushed.”
George, 51, is now getting to return to singing as she is taking part in All Star Musicals.
The programme follows a group of celebs as they perform musical hits in a bid to be crowned All Star Musicals champion.
Contestants include Good Morning Britain star Alex Beresford and EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa.
George has said it’s a “dream” to be a part of the ITV show.
Announcing it on Instagram earlier this year, she wrote: “Very excited to share that I’m taking part in the brand new @ITV All Star Musicals special!!!
“It’s a dream come true to take part in the show! The team have all been so supportive and what a fabulous cast line up.”
George landed her first screen role in the early 90s, when she filmed an episode of The Bill.
