Coronation Street shock 'romance sealed' as fans say 'it must be love'
Coronation Street revealed the aftermath of the explosive fire at the Platt's iconic house following an arson attack by an unknown person.
David Platt (played by Jack P. Shepherd) and his family have been left wondering how they will pay back thousands after stealing cash from a gangster. He tried to re-mortgage his family home, and when that failed it appeared David would need to sell it.
He has since been living in fear for his family's safety as he scrambled to raise the money. On Monday (February 4) No. 8 Coronation Street, the home to the Platt's since 1991, was burnt to the ground by an unknown person.
Elsewhere, Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) has been struggling since her heartbreak over Nick (Ben Price) and Toyah's (Georgia Taylor) romance.

After the fire kicked off, Leanne was seen standing and looking at the blaze with a shocked expression and on Tuesday (February 4), she became a suspect of arson and quizzed by the cops.
While sitting in The Rovers, copper Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) asked to speak to Leanne about where she was at the time of the fire and asked her if she had attacked Toyah.
Leanne protested her innocence as she became increasingly upset. "Now you mention it I suppose you do have a motive", Kit told her.
Leanne assured Kit she was visiting her sons grave at the time of the arson attack but was left stumped when asked if she was alone at the graveyard.
"She was with me, we were there together", Steve quickly butted in as he provided her with an alibi.
Last week, Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) felt sorry for his former lover after he saw her looking depressed. After a glass of red wine the pair kissed as they reflected their friendship, and Leanne couldn't help but get emotional.
Following Steve's actions, Corrie fans are now predicting he will rekindle his relationship with Leanne.
Taking to X, one Corrie fan wrote: "#corrie It must be love if Steve is prepared to lie for Leanne fishwife mouth."
A second chimed in: "Steve lying to Kit for Leanne? Oh he’s serious about her isn’t he?! #Corrie."
A third added: "Steve is too nice to Leanne. Don't be her alibi! #corrie."
"Steve lying to back up Leanne's alibi. Not a wise move but Steve is not a wise man", added another.
"Steve covered for Leanne oh no #Corrie", exclaimed one fan.
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV and ITVX
