Yahoo News Coronation Street Sophie Webster star supported as 'world turned upside down' after heartbreaking loss
Brooke Vincent has been flooded with support as she shared details of her heartbreaking family loss. The soap star rose to fame with her portrayal of Sophie Webster on Coronation Street.
Brooke arrived on the Cobbles as the renowned character in 2004 and thrilled fans with her performances until she departed Weatherfield in 2019. She regularly shares updates from her family life on Instagram with her 926,000 followers.
She has taken to social media to share some sad news as she revealed her nan, Joan, died last month. She said: "On October 5th our family's whole world was turned upside down, as we lost our beautiful, amazing, ICONIC Nana Joan.
"Yesterday we laid her to rest with a service that was full to the brim of people that loved and cared for her. I thought by now I would have the words to explain what this loss means to me but the truth is I don’t think I will ever, my nana's passing has left our family feeling completely devastated and truly lost.

"Thank you to everybody who has reached out over the past unsettling month, your love and kind words haven’t gone unnoticed. Nana. I couldn’t tell you anymore how much I loved you, I find comfort in knowing you always knew that.
"Me and my boys were the luckiest to have you. Now I’m glad of the 96 videos I have of you and our happy times! I know how many people on here loved and adored my nana and our videos! She always loved being “recognised”. Thank you for loving her as much as we all did. I love you Nana. I will forever miss you."
Joan built up a large social media following with updates from her life. Coronation Street stars took to the comments after Brooke's sad post to share messages of support.
Sair Khan said: "Heartbroken for you all, I’m so sorry for your loss." Sally Dynevor posted: "Nana Joan was a treasure. Sending you lots of love xxxxxx"
Ellie Leach, who is Brooke's cousin, added: "Nana Joan." Sally Carman commented: "I loved hearing your Nana stories, she was such a legend. So, so sorry Brooke, sending you a ton of love"
Samia Longchambon, who plays Maria Windass, posted: "Oh Brooke. So sorry to hear this.. sending you and your family love" Emmerdale star Charley Webb said: "Heartbroken for you all."
