'Coronation Street' spoilers: Coma crisis for Summer, plus surprise exit revealed

There's a health crisis for Summer on Coronation Street next week, while Imran resorts to underhanded tactics, plus Gary gets a new shock.

Summer’s diabetic coma

Summer has a hypo, which police officers confuse for drunkenness. But after she’s taken down to the station, Aadi and Amy call in and tell Craig that her condition may be as a result of her diabetes.

Craig then hurries to the cells, where he finds Summer in a diabetic coma. And fearing the worst, he makes a panicked call for an ambulance.

Luckily, she pulls through, and Billy then tasks Summer’s loved ones with looking out for her, telling them about her eating disorder. But after making a shocking discovery of his own, Billy ultimately arranges for Summer to attend a diabetes support group.

Summer reluctantly agrees to put her revision on hold so she can attend. And while there, she meets fellow diabetic Aaron, who gives her his number. Heartened by this breakthrough, Billy ends the week feeling pleased that Summer is making friends.

Daisy schemes against Nicky

Daisy is getting paranoid about Nicky and tells Jenny that she’s going to find the Weatherfield returnee a man in order to keep her away from Daniel.

But an attempt to matchmake Nicky with Daisy’s ex Ashley doesn’t go to plan when he recognises her as a former sex worker.

And, by the week’s end, the pressure has mounted further for Nicky, whose former life intrudes on her current career. Friday’s episode sees her summoned by Mrs Cranshaw for a meeting so they can discuss her past. But how will the teacher react when Nicky confirms that she used to work in the sex industry?

Rick’s surprise for Gary from beyond the grave

Maria is mortified when Beth shows her a photo in the Gazette of the fight at Rick’s funeral.

But there are more surprises to come when Ed and Paul find a holdall containing £17,000 under the floorboards at Rick’s house. What will Gary do with the money? And why is Kelly acting cagey on the day of her mum’s funeral?

Imran plays dirty

Imran asks Ben to dig up all he can on Abi. And while Toyah is initially unimpressed by these methods, she comes round to his way of thinking after overhearing Abi and Elliot discussing ways to scupper Imran’s chances of custody.

So, by Friday, Imran is making it clear to Ben: he needs hard evidence that Abi is back on drugs before the date of the custody hering.

Exit for Elaine

After Sally returns from Gina’s to find Tim and his mum ensconced in front of the telly, she bites the bullet and suggests that Elaine moves out.

After Elaine packs her stuff and departs, Tim finds himself sad to see her go, but Sally is excited by the prospect of them having an empty house. But things between the two of them don’t exactly end up going to plan…

Eileen gets rejected

Eileen makes dinner for George and suggests he stay the night, only to be left hurt when he makes an excuse and leaves.

What’s preoccupying George’s mind is the fact that, over at the undertaker’s, he has a bigamist to bury – and the man’s two widows don’t know of the other’s existence. But when Sean makes a joke about George having “another woman”, Eileen leaps to the wrong conclusion and confronts him.
