Coronation Street spoilers with Joel 'death', Paul's emotional funeral and Fiz's health concerns

Joel Deering will spark fears he's dead in Coronation Street next week after his attempts to evade justice from the grooming of young girls, including Lauren Bolton.

As viewers of the ITV soap know, DS Lisa Swain and Dee-Dee Bailey have teamed up to bring Joel down once and for all and they appeared a step closer in recent scenes when Swain was able to charge the evil solicitor for purchasing the pills used to bring on Lauren's early labour with their son, Frankie.

Next week, spoilers have revealed that having received a voice message from Joel, Dee-Dee plays it to Lisa who reckons it could be a suicide note.

Through Joel’s phone signal, Kit Green pinpoints his last whereabouts and finds his car parked on a bridge with a folded note on the dashboard. Lisa breaks the news that they are now looking for Joel’s body. Has Joel really taken his own life?

Later, in the café, Dee-Dee confides in Kit that she phoned the wedding venue and the holiday company and it would seem Joel has already recouped their deposits.

At the end of the week, Dee Dee confronts Joel’s dad at the police station and suggests his son has gone on the run. Lisa is forced to step in and tells Dee Dee to accept Joel is dead.

Elsewhere, with no agreements so far on Paul Foreman's funeral, Billy Mayhew suggests to Bernie Winter they choose the flowers together, resulting in another argument. Bernie tells Dev Alahan that she might not be able to give Paul the funeral she would have liked, but she’ll find a fitting place to bury his ashes.

Later, an emotional Billy prepares for the funeral on what would have been his and Paul’s first wedding anniversary. He is horrified at the church to find his late husband's drunken dad Denny skulking in the shadows and orders him to behave and keep out of sight.

As Todd Grimshaw, Summer Spellman, Kit, David Platt, Chesney Brown and Dee-Dee Bailey carry Paul’s coffin down the aisle with Bernie and Gemma Winter-Brown following behind, Billy steps forward to conduct the service. Will everything go to plan?

Following Paul's funeral, the finishing touches are put to his memorial rave on the street with bunting and glow sticks. Bernie asks Todd to bring Paul’s ashes so she can give him the best spot on the dance floor.

But a hungover Billy is shocked when he goes to the undertakers for Paul’s ashes only to discover Bernie already has them. Later, Bernie thanks the party goers for giving Paul a night to remember and reveals her plans to send his ashes into space.

Also on the cobbles, following Fiz Dobbs' ruined birthday celebrations, Tyrone plans a romantic dinner to make up for it. But after experiencing dizziness at work a worried, Fiz books in for a doctor's appointment.

Later at No.9, Tyrone explains to the girls that Fiz isn’t feeling well. But his concerns about Fiz are put to one side when he picks up daughter Hope's pencil case and a vape falls out. Tyrone and Fiz are then stunned when a cocky Hope reveals she stole it from the corner shop.

Meanwhile, Ryan Connor calls at the factory with an official looking letter. Carla Connor reads it and her face falls. In the café, Ryan confides in Lisa that Carla’s stressed about her plea hearing but Lisa wonders if it is more than that. What has upset Carla?

Also, Stu Carpenter is taken aback to find Mason Radcliffe already at work who explains he spent the night in the restaurant to avoid another beating from his brothers. Having been in a similar situation, will Stu be able to help Mason?
