Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan has announced that she is pregnant – but admitted that it “wasn’t in the plan”.

The 27-year-old, who is expecting her second child with footballer boyfriend Scott Sinclair, was in Dubai in September when she discovered the news.

The pair already have a two-year-old daughter named Matilda and had previously ruled out another child until after she was four-years-old.

Speaking to OK! Magazine Sinclair said: “It was a little bit of a surprise! I was away in Dubai with my family.

“Helen couldn’t come as she was filming. She found out on a Thursday but had to wait until I got home five days later to tell me."

Flanagan added: "I did three more tests just to make sure it was correct! I had a very strong feeling I was pregnant, so I wasn’t surprised.

"I was very happy, but I was a bit taken aback as this baby wasn’t in the plan. I knew I would feel a lot better once I’d told Scott."

The couple, who have been together since 2009, also revealed that they hope to get married.

The model said: "We both would love to get married and for us all to have same name."
