Coronation Street star inadvertently leaks major Gail Platt exit detail with new set photo
Channique Sterling-Brown, who portrays Dee Dee Bailey in Coronation Street, may have unintentionally disclosed a significant detail about Gail Platt's departure plotline as the cast continues to film late into the night.
Helen Worth, 73, had previously announced her retirement from the ITV soap at the end of 2024. As part of her exit from the show, Sean Wilson was brought back to reprise his role as Gail's ex-husband Martin Platt.
However, due to personal reasons, Sean had to leave before completing filming, prompting the producers to rewrite and film a new exit storyline for Gail.

Channique has hinted at the direction this story might take with a photo she posted on Instagram, captioned: "Nothing like a night shoot to make you regret dancing until 2am." The photo reveals that Gail's house, No. 8 Coronation Street, is up for sale, reports the Mirror.
Gail moved into the house with Martin in December 1991, but after 33 years, it appears their home will be leaving the family. Currently, Gail and Martin's son David Platt resides there with his wife Shona and their children, Max and Lily.
Gail's daughter with Martin, Sarah Platt, lives in her own flat with her children, while her eldest son Nick Tilsey also lives away from the family home.
Amidst the furor on social media regarding the surprising developments on Coronation Street, fans have expressed concern that the sudden changes could signal a tragic departure for Gail Platt, with many urging showrunners to spare her character from a fatal exit.
One anxious viewer posted: "Omg... sounds like maybe Helen has gone to the bosses and said that she doesn't want to leave this way anymore and now this scares me she's decided she wants Gail to be killed off instead. I'm actually scared."
Echoing the sentiment, another devotee remarked: "Dear #Corrie producers.... whatever you do, DO NOT kill off Gail Platt."
Further comments included apprehensions such as "I swear if Gail gets killed off," and concerns from another saying: "Gail best not be getting killed off."
Helen Worth, who portrays Gail Platt, discussed her forthcoming exit explaining: "This year felt like the perfect time to leave the show after celebrating 50 years in the most wonderful job on the most wonderful street in the world. The past 50 years have flown by and I don't think the fact that I am leaving has quite sunk in yet."
Having joined the cast in 1974, Helen Worth has turned her character Gail into one of the most iconic figures on television and is hailed as one of the greatest soap stars in history.
