Coronation Street star Lisa George has revealed that she was verbally abused in the street in an unprovoked attack.
The actress, who has also been a contestant on this year's Dancing on Ice, posted about her ordeal on Instagram this week, saying that she was "aggressively goaded" with a tirade of abuse.
Lisa explained that the incident happened when she was out meeting a friend in Altrincham, Greater Manchester.
She shared an unhappy-looking selfie and wrote: "Omg I have just walked Into #altrincham to meet a friend and been verbally abused... They aggressively goaded me and I didn't reply that I was 'Beth' from Corrie.
"They then called me a f*****g slag! Horrific abuse in broad daylight when I was simply going about my business. I don't appreciate this. I was not working and I'm allowed a private life.
"I do not tolerate bullies who openly abuse people with no cause or reason. Please be aware everyone!"
Last month, Lisa was eliminated from Dancing on Ice in the quarter-finals after losing to Libby Clegg and Mark Hanretty in the skate-off.
But judge Ashley Banjo has revealed to Digital Spy and others that he thought Lisa would have made the final of the show.
"I always felt like Lisa was a finalist, to be honest, even though I gave her a hard time," he explained. "I think that's because this show's as much about the entertainment value and the creatives and the choreography as it is about the hardcore skating, and there were some weeks where it just didn't go right for her."
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV.
