Yahoo News Coronation Street star predicts Bethany Platt will return to the soap
Coronation Street actress Lucy Fallon has admitted that she'll probably return to the Weatherfield cobbles some time in the future – as long as the writers don't kill her off, that is.
Lucy's decision to leave the soap was announced earlier this month, as she looks to chase other projects and spread her wings.
But this isn't the last we'll see of Bethany Platt, according to the 23-year-old.
Speaking to Mirror Online backstage at Radio 1's Big Weekend, Lucy admitted that she finds the prospect of flying the Corrie nest "quite scary".
She said: "I will be sad but I'm excited to see what's going to happen in the future, although I have no idea what's going to happen.
"When I leave I'll have been there for five years and I've never done anything else, so I just want to try new things and do new things," Lucy added.
"But I'll end up going back - I'll be back."
She also voiced her appreciation for Bethany's dramatic storylines over the years – which included a horrific rape ordeal.
"It's been really good and I owe everything to the show. Hopefully [I'll be back].
"We'll see, but you never know, I might end up getting killed in a tram crash," she joked.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
