The soap began a devastating storyline for Abi earlier this year, which saw the character become the victim of deepfake porn – an AI technology which is used to alter the faces of actors in already-existing pornographic material.
Abi came to the conclusion that Stefan Brent, the scheming father of Seb's killer Corey, was responsible for posting the videos. She had decided to speak out against a documentary that painted Corey in a positive light.
After Stefan's office was set on fire in July, Abi found herself under suspicion, with DS Swain taking her in for questioning.
It was later revealed that Jack Webster was behind the arson, though he insisted that he never meant to start the blaze.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
