Coronation Street Star Samia Ghadie Marries Sylvain Longchambon

Pop the champers! Coronation Street star Samia Ghadie has tied the knot with her former Dancing On Ice partner Sylvain Longchambon.

The lovestruck couple – who first met on the ITV celeb skating show in 2013 – were married at Gary Barlow’s old home Delamere Manor, in Cuddington, Cheshire, on Saturday (Aug 20).

The couple’s romantic country wedding was an intimate affair, but some privileged guests included Samia’s Corrie co-stars Antony Cotton, Catherine Tyldesley and Shayne Ward, according to The Sun.

Catherine, who plays Eva Price in the soap, tweeted her best wishes to the newlyweds on Sunday morning (Aug 21), writing: “The most gorgeous day for a beautiful couple!! Thankyou @realsamia and @slongchambon – an amazing love filled day. Congrats xxxx”

While Antony, who plays Sean Tully on the cobbles, shared his delight on social media before the ceremony, simply tweeting a photo of his wedding card addressed to “Mr and Mrs.”

And Antony’s partner Peter Eccleston tweeted on his account: “We laughed & danced all day yesterday celebrating @realsamia &slongchambon wedding. Thanks for the best day you two.”

The actress, 34, shared some details of her low-key wedding in a blog for OK! Online prior to the big day.

She said: “With all the planning that’s gone into it, I want to be able to try and enjoy the day as much as we can.

“A lot of people who get married say that they hardly spoke to their husband on the day so I’d really like to try and get a few minutes with Sylvain where it’s just us to be able to digest it all.

“We’ve also tried to keep our guest numbers down as much as possible to our really close friends and family as we want to be able to spend time with everyone and not to get to the end of the day and feel like we’ve not had chance to chat to all our guests.”

The couple announced their engagement in May 2015 when Samia was pregnant with their son, Yves Joseph, who was born last September. Samia also has a daughter Freya, six, with property developer ex-husband Matt Smith.
