Coronation Street's Channique Sterling-Brown has teased 'just the beginning' as she was seen watching her latest storyline unfold alongside her co-star Calum Lill.

Fans will know the pair for playing Dee-Dee Bailey and Joel Deering in the ITV soap. Solicitor Joel first arrived in Weatherfield as a new love interest for local legal expert Dee-Dee last year.

The pair quickly hit it off and had plans to marry September - until the truth about Joel was uncovered. It was revealed that he had secretly been grooming young girls, including Lauren Bolton who mysteriously disappeared in February before being found pregnant in scenes in August.

It comes after it was revealed to Corrie fans that Joel was Laurens 'secret boyfriend' and was behind her disappearance and presumed murder after he was seen attacking her with a chair leg. Luckily, she survived and returned to Weatherfield pregnant with Joel's baby.

In the meantime, Dee-Dee has discovered what her fiancé has been up to and has since teamed up with DS Lisa Swain to bring Joel down after it was revealed that Lauren wasn't the only young girl he had groomed as another teenager, Ellie, was tracked down and agreed to make an official statement to the police.

In the meantime, Dee-Dee has discovered what her fiancé has been up to and has since teamed up with DS Lisa Swain to bring Joel down. The pair appeared close to getting Joel once and for all when Swain was able to charge him over buying the drugs used to prompt Lauren's early labour, having intended for her to miscarry, with baby Frankie still in a fragile state.

But, during last Friday's (September 27) episode of Corrie, viewers saw Joel not show up to his plea hearing and a warrant was issued for his arrest. After transferring money to Lauren and his ex-wife Emily, it was believed Joel may end up taking his own life.

The episode ended with Joel crying in his car. He recorded a message for Dee-Dee, telling her he still loves her. After ending the call, Joel looked at himself in the car mirror, and a large wound was shown across his face. Swain has since shared her beliefs that Joel may have taken his own life, but Dee-Dee isn't convinced.

Taking to TikTok, Channique shared a video of herself and Calum watching the episode with the message: "Watch Friday's Corrie with us..." She also captioned the post: "We got to watch Fridays #Corrie before it aired, so we could prepare for the aftermath…let’s just say gogglebox won’t be calling anytime soon and we both need to stop biting our nails @calumlill."

In the video, the pair are seen reacting to different parts of the episode while also sharing behind-the-scenes details. At one point, Channique says: "I hate Joel so much, he does my head in," as Calum let out a little laugh alongside her.

There is also a moment in the episode where Dee-Dee is heard saying: "I just can't wait for this nightmare to be over," to which Channique responded: "Bad news Dee-Dee. We're only just beginning," which left Calum giving a stifled laugh as he was in the middle of sipping on his brew.

At the end of the episode, Channique says: "Ooh yeah, she's coming for you in a big way," before Calum said: "Flippin' eck," before they started mimicking the Argos advert that appears at the start Corrie and between each ad break, featuring Connie and Trevor.
