Coronation Street star Twana Omer lands exciting new role after Daryan's exit
Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street star Twana Omer has landed an exciting new role in a Broadway play following his character Daryan Zahaw's exit from the soap.
Omer, who joined the soap last year as part of an ongoing storyline exploring the issue of far-right extremism with teen character Max Turner, left the cobbles last week after an emotional goodbye.
After meeting a man named Mo, Daryan discovered that his brother, who had been in the same refugee camp as Mo, had made it to the UK.

Following a chat with Mo, Daryan learned that his brother had been in the same processing centre as him and was living somewhere in Nottingham.
Without further details on the whereabouts of his brother, and with no more information to track him down, Daryan borrowed money from Gary and Maria to try to find him.
Heading off to Nottingham with a social worker, Daryan left the cobbles in search of his brother, bidding farewell to Weatherfield.

Now the former soap star is set to appear in a Broadway stage play after landing a major role in a play titled The Jungle.
The stage show, which opened late last month, boasts more than one Corrie star in its cast, which is likely to make Omer feel right at home.
Starring alongside the young actor in the Broadway play is Coronation Street veteran Julie Hesmondhalgh, who played Hayley Cropper in the ITV soap between 1998 and 2014.
Omer is set to appear in the stage production until the end of March when he will rejoin the cast at the end of April as the play moves to Washington for its off-Broadway run.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
