Yahoo News Coronation Street star's son rushed to intensive care
Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas and his partner Lucy Mecklenburgh have revealed that their young son Roman has spent time in intensive care over the past week.
The news was shared by both of his parents on Instagram yesterday (September 16), with the former Jason Grimshaw actor writing: "No words can explain how grateful we are to have our little boy home safe after spending nearly a week in intensive care.
"As parents it's been one of the scariest times of our lives but with thanks to our amazing doctors and nurses we have king Roman back playing, smiling and more importantly eating."

Thomas, pictured above cradling his poorly son, then went on to thank the NHS and children's/neonatal charity Cosmic: "You both really are the real life superheroes."
The Only Way is Essex's Mecklenburgh shared a statement too, recalling how they discovered their baby boy "blue in his cot" before he was placed on a ventilator at St Marys London's intensive care unit.
"Although mentally we as a family may never fully recover, we feel extremely blessed to have our special boy home in our arms and it has truly opened our eyes to all the hardworking superheroes working in our hospitals who dedicate their lives to helping others and how extremely lucky we are to have these incredible medical services free for all of us in the UK."

The couple's nearest and dearest were full of support in the comment section, as Thomas' fellow Weatherfield star Samia Longchambon shared: "Sending you all so much love."
"Sending my love to you [red heart emoji] hope he's ok!" added TOWIE's Amber Dowding, before a third person responded: "You and Ryan have been so brave, you are both amazing parents."
