Coronation Street has teased Joel Deering finally facing his downfall.
Friday's episode (August 16) saw Joel's fiancée Dee-Dee Bailey and DS Lisa Swain separately discovering damning information about the evil solicitor.
Dee-Dee's suspicions came about when she offered Joel's ex Emily a fairy charm for the bracelet Joel said he'd given daughter Maeve.
Emily revealed that Joel had never given his daughter any such bracelet, then warned Dee-Dee that he'd still been paying rent on his old flat.

Dee-Dee snuck into Joel's flat, where he'd recently put up Lauren Bolton during her pregnancy. While Lauren wasn't present at the time, Dee-Dee did find some nail varnish.
Joel was put on the back foot when Dee-Dee confronted him with the nail varnish and the non-existent charm bracelet, though he was able to quickly spin a story to explain himself.
The solicitor claimed that Emily had spitefully sold the bracelet, while the nail varnish could be explained by him sub-letting his flat.
Dee-Dee quizzed Joel on where he'd bought the bracelet so she could get Maeve a replacement, yet he remained evasive. Joel suggested anything Dee-Dee chose would be perfect.

While Dee-Dee told Joel they were "good", her face fell as soon as he walked away. At the same time, Joel faced new suspicion from the Weatherfield PD over his connection to Lauren.
Mason encouraged Betsy Swain to tell her mum about Joel injuring her arm, so the teen went to the police precinct to report Joel for assaulting her.
DS Swain hauled in Joel for questioning about why he'd "violently" grabbed Betsy by the arm. Joel claimed that he'd given Betsy some cash to help her out, but insisted he'd "never touched her".
Later, viewers saw DS Swain looking up Joel in the police database, where she discovered he once represented Lauren Bolton in a criminal damage case.
Is this the beginning of the end for Joel?
