‘Coronation Street’ tonight: Imran and Abi go head to head in court battle
There’s a tense wait ahead for Abi Webster (Sally Carman) in tonight’s Coronation Street, as she attends another hearing to determine the future of her baby son Alfie.
In tonight’s instalment of the ITV soap, which airs at 8pm, the little boy’s father, Imran Habeeb (Charlie de Melo) is more determined than ever to gain custody.
As the week began, Imran was feeling confident of his chances in court. He recently hired a man called Ben to do some digging, convinced he could prove that recovering addict Abi was using drugs again.

When Abi found out about his scheming, she confronted Imran, furious over his underhand behaviour.
After an attempt from Abi to derail the wedding, Imran went on to marry partner Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor). But the celebrations turned sour when Imran branded Abi an unfit mother, while she warned him to prepare for a fight.

As Corrie returns, Abi informs Imran’s former foster daughter Kelly Neelan (Millie Gibson) of what he’s been up to. Kelly then pleads with Imran not to take Alfie away from Abi.
Soon after, solicitor Elliot arrives, telling Abi he will still be representing her after all, as his fees have been mysteriously paid. Just as things seem to be looking up for Abi, ex acquaintance Dean turns up in search of drugs. Desperate to get rid of him, Abi hands him some cash.
With Ben having spotted their exchange, he shows Imran some photos of Abi and Dean and reveals that he’s prepared to lie in court to help him out.

Although Imran has already employed some dodgy tactics, will he cross the line to frame Abi? Toyah may be ready and willing to look after Alfie with her new husband, but how would she react if she knew how far Imran’s plotting could potentially go?
And what will Abi do if she finds out that she has been followed yet again? As she continues her efforts to get her life back on track, it seems she is destined to be thwarted at every turn. Will she turn back to drugs again, or stay strong and continue to prove herself?
The biggest question is: will the judge award custody of Alfie to Imran, or to Abi? Or might the baby remain under the current care order?
Tune in to Coronation Street tonight at 8pm to find out.
