The ITV soap, which airs tonight at 8pm, saw Spider’s true motives revealed to vile Griff earlier this week. Suspicious Griff set a trap to catch Spider out, and as Spider vowed to stop him, Griff set upon him with a crowbar.
Luckily, a passing Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) intervened before Griff and his cronies could finish Spider off. But Spider's partner Toyah Habeeb (Georgia Taylor) was later told that he needed an operation for a bleed on his brain.

Meanwhile, groomed teen Max Turner (Paddy Bever) recently moved in with Griff after rejecting his family. The troubled young man has been making harmful propaganda for the cause, and sent one of his films to impressionable little sister Lily Platt (Brooke Malonie), worrying parents David (Jack P Shepherd) and Shona (Julia Goulding).

As Alya Nazir (Sair Khan), Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) and other residents set up stalls at Weatherfield’s Peace Market, Max is worried when he spots the Speed Daal van nearby, when the group had already told him the vehicle was at the bottom of the canal.
Then Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) takes a call from her dad, gang member Reece (Scott Anson), instructing her to stay away from the market. Max decides that they should call the police and warn people, as it’s clear that Griff and co are about to put lives at risk.
What exactly has Griff done? Will Max’s mission save people, or will he be too late? And will Spider survive his ordeal?
Brace yourselves for an action-packed hour, and expect to be on the edge of your seats. There are two standout performances on the way - one of which comes from young actor Bever as the stunned Max.
To reveal any further details would give the game away, but you won’t want to miss a moment as the situation reaches a critical stage.
Coronation Street airs this high stakes episode at 8pm on ITV.
