Coronation Street Toyah's secret long-lost sister 'exposed' - and she's a cobbles resident

Coronation Street fans are certain Toyah Battersby is set for a long-lost sibling storyline - with her sister already on the cobbles.

Toyah (Georgia Taylor) has been a staple on the soap since rocking up to the cobbles with the rest of the Battersby clan in 1997. And it’s fair to say Toyah has found herself involved in several big moments on the soap over the years.

Just this year, she made the shock confession that when she was 19 years old, she gave birth to a stillborn baby girl and buried her in a local park. Toyah got pregnant after she was raped by Phil Simmonds (Jack Deam), a former resident of the street.

Decades later and Toyah kept the secret quiet until this year, when she confided in sister Leanne (Jane Danson) and brother-in-law Nick Platt (Ben Price).

What’s more, Toyah also started an affair with Nick amid Leanne’s distraction with the mysterious cult, The Institute. The truth has since come out about Nick and Toyah though, leaving Leanne heartbroken. As well as all that, Toyah has faced a cancer battle too.

However, viewers are certain that yet another dramatic storyline is in store for Toyah as they have predicted a long-lost sibling plot twist could play out on screens.

Sharing their thoughts online, fans have pointed out how much Toyah and Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) lookalike, with viewers convinced the pair could be related. Now, they think it’s only a matter of time before there will be a long-lost sibling storyline.

Writing on a Corrie Facebook fan page, one person said: “If the writers wanted to, they could definitely retcon Toyah and Summer being long-lost siblings.” Someone else replied: “Glad it's not just me who thought Summer was Toyah then.” A third wrote: “Can definitely see this happening!”

Summer herself has had a rough few months too. Recently, her adoptive father Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) passed away following a battle with MND. Fans will recall Paul was diagnosed last year, and in emotional scenes, earlier this month he took his final breath surrounded by his loved ones.
