Coronation Street's Carla Connor is doubted by her partner Peter Barlow after they both return to Weatherfield next week.

Carla (Alison King) has spent the past few weeks receiving psychiatric treatment in Carlisle, but will soon be heading home after making some positive progress.

The Underworld staff aren't sure what to think when Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien) announces the news that Carla is due home imminently.

Some of the workers still blame Carla for the factory roof collapse that killed Rana Habeeb, but others have more sympathy after hearing about her recent breakdown.

Carla's comeback sees her announce the news that she has decided to gift her factory shares to the staff, finally giving them a stake in the business they've worked in for so many years.

Carla thinks this is the best way to make amends with everyone after recent events, but Peter is sceptical over her decision to turn Underworld into a co-operative.

Peter fears that Carla's recent psychosis is still affecting her decision-making, even though she's now lucid again and on medication.

Much to Carla's fury, Peter even speaks to Roy Cropper about the possibility of getting power of attorney to protect her assets.

Carla insists that she has simply realised what is important in life and wants Peter to support her on this.

Later in the week, Beth Tinker spreads the word about Carla gifting her factory shares to the workforce, leaving Nick Tilsley outraged. But is there anything he can do to stop her?

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Wednesday, July 3 and Friday, July 5 on ITV.
