Coronation Street's Dee-Dee 'not pregnant' as fans 'work out' what's really wrong in twist
Coronation Street fans have ‘rumbled’ what exactly is wrong with Dee-Dee Bailey - and she’s not pregnant. The character (Channique Sterling-Brown) made her debut back in 2022 - and has since become a firm favourite with viewers. However, Dee-Dee has had a dramatic few months recently.
She learned the truth about her fiancé Joel Deering (Calum Lill) and that he is responsible for grooming and abusing young girls over the years, including Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton). Sicko solicitor Joel’s true colours came to light, leaving his fellow Weatherfield residents horrified, including Dee-Dee who vowed to bring him down.
Joel was eventually arrested - but released on bail. However, last week, he went missing, with police presuming he had killed himself. And during Monday’s episode (October 14), it was revealed that Joel was dead, after his body was found in a nearby river.

Despite initially being considered suicide, a post-mortem later confirmed that it was murder, as Joel was hit over the head with a heavy weapon, before his body was dumped.
However, amid the Joel drama, Dee-Dee has got plenty of fans talking. In several episodes recently, she has acted out of character, appearing to experience hallucinations and feeling sick and throwing up.
And while some people think she could be pregnant, other viewers have ‘worked out’ what is really wrong. One person said on a Corrie Facebook fan page: “Dee dee was acting weird again last night. Went to drink her wine and then excused herself to the toilet...”
Someone else added: “Was the sickness due to murdering him not pregnancy as she was supposedly waiting till after marriage?” A third agreed: “Yeah she did it. They didn’t have sex - she was saving herself until they were married.” A fourth chimed in and wrote: “She hasn't slept with anyone yet because of her religion. She killed him.”
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
