Coronation Street's Geoff Metcalfe finds a new ally in Tyrone Dobbs
Coronation Street's Geoff Metcalfe may have found a new ally tonight (July 10) in Tyrone Dobbs.
After failing to get permission to visit his estranged wife Yasmeen in prison, Geoff turned his attention to trying to rattle her granddaughter Alya Nazir.
Geoff turned up to work at Speed Daal in an effort to unsettle Alya – and it appeared his plan worked.
Almost immediately, Geoff tried to goad Alya and her boyfriend Ryan Connor into an argument.
When Alya told him to leave, Geoff said he was simply trying to "rebuild his life" after suffering abuse for months.
"Abuse by my tiny, defenceless grandma?" Alya asked, to which Geoff said he now finally feels strong enough to get back to work.
But Alya and Geoff's whole exchange was overheard by Tyrone who had been enjoying a romantic meal with Fiz.
Before they left the restaurant Tyrone told Geoff: "I know what you're going through, I've been there." He explained that he had been abused by his ex partner Kirsty Soames.

"People don't believe it cause it's your missus," Tyrone added.
"I'm just over the road if you need to talk."
While it's understandable why Tyrone would want to support Geoff, many viewers were disappointed at him taking Geoff's side, unaware that it's him who's been abusing Yasmeen for months.
Damn you, Tyrone, throwing your support behind Geoff. And the rest of the street was doing so well, being on team Yasmeen... #Corrie

Oh fgs Tyrone, don't be fooled! The irony is, it's the same for Yasmeen as it was for Ty; a victim made out to be the abuser BY the abuser! #Corrie

I don’t blame Tyrone for siding with Geoff. He remembers being painted as the abuser when he was the abused so of course he’s gonna sympathise with someone he thinks is going through the same thing
He will feel a fool later but atm it’s realistic he believes #CoronationStreet— Lucie (@loulouppg17) July 10, 2020
I can’t believe Tyrone & Fiz have taken Geoffs side. I suppose it’s understandable after Kirsty #Corrie

The episode ended with Geoff finally getting in contact with Yasmeen again after her stole Alya's phone.
Will Geoff be able to take back control of Yasmeen's life even while she's in prison?
