Coronation Street's Hope Stape sparks another fire amid Eliza tensions

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street's Hope Stape will spark another shocking fire amid her ongoing tensions with Eliza.

Recently, Hope was caught out over her nasty behaviour towards Stu's granddaughter Eliza, who was forced to move schools after being bullied.

A jealous Hope, who was left unimpressed when Eliza formed a bond with Sam Blakeman, convinced Eliza to hire a disco limo (complete with a manicurist and glitter artist) for her upcoming party.

Intent on sabotaging the event she had helped plan, Hope told the boys that they wouldn't enjoy the birthday party at all.

In upcoming scenes, Hope will take her sabotage to the next level at the belated birthday get-together in Speed Daal.

During the party, Roy and Sam attempt to wow the party guests with a science display as part of a surprise for Eliza.

However, a jealous Hope will slyly sabotage the science experiment, doing what she does best: lighting fires. When the experiment bursts into flames, Yasmeen grabs the fire extinguisher to put an end to Hope's plan.

Fiz's daughter has a history of starting fires in the soap, though the upcoming birthday party fire doesn't seem quite as dramatic.

Previously, Hope set fire to a building, which she became trapped in after sneaking a lighter out of the house inside a toy doll.

While the upcoming birthday party fire might signal even more trouble ahead for the youngster, Coronation Street boss Iain MacLeod recently teased some lighter storylines for Hope.

"She's certainly not going to continue going down such a troubled path, in the short to medium to long-term," he revealed.

"We thought: 'Actually, we've done some very dark and twisted things with that character, and okay, that'll still be part of her, but for the next 12 months we're going to do normal pre-teen stuff.'"

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
