Coronation Street’s Jack P. Shepherd To Leave Show After Live Episode?

Hold on a minute, has Coronation Street’s Jack P. Shepherd hinted that all might not be well for his onscreen persona, David Platt, following next week’s live episode?

SAY IT AIN’T SO.

The 27-year-old star, who has played David on the ITV soap for the last fifteen years, appeared rather coy when asked about his future in the show, telling The Mirror: “My contract is up in September, after the live.”

When pressed to reveal whether or not he had negotiated a new contract, Jack refused to tell, simply saying: “I think so.”

Hmm, you think so? Or you know so? Because if you don’t renew that contract you’re going to end up down the job centre on Thursday morning, babes…

Jack’s character is at the centre of tomorrow night’s live show, which is airing to celebrate sixty years of Corrie, and with the Platt family desperate to escape the wrath of bad boy drug dealer Callum Logan (Sean Ward), it isn’t unreasonable to speculate that David might end up meeting a grisly end.

Yikes.

Regardless of whether or not Jack will be doing a ‘Bradley-Off-EastEnders’ during the live ep, the star revealed that he’s actually not all that worried about making any mistakes.

Explaining to The Sun, Jack dished: “The problem is that when all the Platts are together all we do is laugh.

“So when it comes to the live episode we are going to have to really rehearse at it and get every joke out of our system beforehand so we don’t laugh on the night.”

A fab idea really, still, we have to admit that we would be at least a little bit disappointed if the thirty minute episode goes by without a single ‘How’s Adam?’ in sight…
