Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street's Johnny Connor is to be arrested in upcoming scenes, after his attempt to make amends for an earlier robbery put him under police scrutiny.

Johnny finds himself consumed by guilt when he and wife Jenny discover Peter Barlow has sadly relapsed. Confiding in Jenny, Johnny admits that seeing Peter drinking again has brought home how he ruined the life of security guard Grant, who also turned to alcohol, all those years ago.

Jenny urges Johnny to forget about it, but struggles to take her own advice. When Carla finds Jenny in tears, Jenny fills her in on Johnny's crimes. In a frank conversation, Carla later assures Johnny they've both done things they regret.

Later in the week, Margaret – who Johnny met with last month – calls The Rovers and tells Jenny that she's the mother of Grant, who was injured in the hit and run following Johnny and Scott's past robbery.

When Johnny confesses he was responsible for Grant's death, Jenny begs Margaret not to go to the police and reveals that Johnny is living with multiple sclerosis. Later, when Carla finds Jenny in tears, she shares her fears that Margaret could already be at the police station.

Johnny tries to make Jenny accept that he's almost certainly going to prison. When Jenny tells her husband that her stepdaughter Daisy is coming to visit, Johnny realises he'll need to take drastic steps for her to face up to the situation.
