Viewers have watched the unlikely romance between Sinead Tinker (Katie McGlynn) and Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) blossom on Coronation Street as the pair have bonded over their unplanned pregnancy, but it seems not everyone is so taken with the idea.
Daniel's dad Ken Barlow is more than a bit peeved at the fact that his son is considering walking away from his plans of studying an MA at University to support Sinead and the baby, and responds by getting "harsh" with Sinead.
"Ken is really harsh," Katie told The Daily Star. "He says to Daniel that Sinead is to him what Deirdre was to Ken.
"I think Ken really regrets his own life. He always wanted what Daniel now has the chance to do - go to university at Oxford, be educated and move away from Weatherfield.
He is seeing Daniel just about to walk into that life and then a factory girl in Weatherfield gets her claws into him."
She continued: "He doesn't want Sinead to get in the way of his dream because that's what happened to him with Deirdre. That's his biggest issue with the pregnancy."
Sinead fell pregnant after she and Daniel gave into temptation after weeks of flirting, and after briefly considering terminating the pregnancy, the new couple decided to keep the baby.
"Ken doesn't take Sinead seriously and wants Daniel to go off and do all the things he wanted for himself," Katie added.
"I think she is really hurt because she knows she is not intellectual like Daniel. She obviously didn't plan for this to happen - she's been thrown into the situation and Ken is not being very nice about it.
"The fact he goes out of his way to make the point that she's 'just a factory girl' is mean and she feels very hurt."
Coronation Street airs on ITV.
