Coronation Street's Kit Green tricks Craig Tinker into confession

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Kit Green has tricked colleague Craig Tinker into making an incriminating confession in Coronation Street.

The Weatherfield PD detective has been trying to keep Craig from figuring out that he broke protocols to protect his half-sister Gemma Winter-Brown.

Viewers recently saw Kit confronting a local store-owner and strong-arming him into dropping theft charges against Gemma.

Craig has since discovered the family connection between Kit and his long-lost sibling, leading him to question whether or not Kit went outside the bounds of the law to get Gemma off the hook.

In Monday's (July 15) episode, Kit was determined to get some blackmail material on Craig so he tried to pump Kirk Sutherland for information.

Kit's blood ran cold when Kirk insisted that he'd always known Craig to follow the law because he didn't have a corrupt bone in his body.

The crooked detective realised he'd have to dig up dirt alone, so he invited Craig out for a pint to get him drunk.

As Craig started drinking more and more, Kit fished for anything from his colleague's past that could be used against him.

Craig eventually confessed that he'd bent the rules to help his former girlfriend Faye Windass over her cover-up of a deadly hit-and-run.

"Let's be honest, we all bend the rules sometimes," Craig admitted.

Craig then asked Kit to forget he'd said anything since he considered himself "a model copper". Kit was pleased to see he'd uncovered Craig's potentially career-ending secret.

Will Kit use the secret to his advantage?

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
