Coronation Street's Maria & Gary get closer to the truth in Liam story
Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Maria Connor and Gary Windass are getting close to the truth over Liam being bullied in Coronation Street.
The teen has been desperately trying to keep his mum and stepdad from discovering that he has been bullied physically and emotionally by schoolmate Mason Radcliffe.
In Wednesday's (January 17) episode, Maria and Gary were shocked to learn that Liam had not gone to school at all in the past week.

Liam had most recently pretended to head for the bus, only to slip off back home and use the school website to report he was out due to illness.
Mary and Gary correctly guessed that Liam was being bullied at school, yet he insisted he was just trying to avoid a new PE teacher.
"If you're not honest with us, we can't help you," Gary tried to explain, with Liam shooting back: "I don't need your help."
Later, Maria and Gary wondered how they might be able to get through to Liam since they were convinced he wasn't telling them the truth.

At the same time, Liam was checking social media posts where he'd received horrific death threats and cyberbullying on his profile.
"I've made it clear to him that he's going in [to school] tomorrow," Maria told Gary, as both remained unaware of how dangerous the situation was becoming.
Will Liam come clean to Maria and Gary?
The story is set to take a disturbing turn next week when the actual culprit of the bullying is misconstrued, leading to the police getting involved.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
