Coronation Street's Sam Aston shares wife has given birth and reveals sweet name after tragedy
Coronation Street star Sam Aston and wife Briony have welcomed their third child. Briony, aged 28, welcomed their daughter into the world just a week ago, and proud dad Sam, 30, has now shared the first glimpse of their bundle of joy.
The actor, known for his role as Chesney Brown, and Briony are already doting parents to three year old Sonny and Daisy, who is 18 months old. Taking to Instagram, Sam announced: "Welcome to the world...Hazel Marie Aston."
He also revealed that little Hazel was born on May 7, tipping the scales at a healthy 8lbs 15oz. He called the series of snaps shared "precious moments".

It appears Briony opted for a home water birth, with supportive Sam by her side throughout. In an intimate moment captured in the photos, Sam is seen planting a loving kiss on Briony as she holds their new arrival in the birthing pool.
Previously, the couple had been expecting twins but tragically lost one to "vanishing twin syndrome". Vanishing twin syndrome is a type of miscarriage that can affect twin or triplet pregnancies.
It happens when the pregnancy continues even though one or more embryos has miscarried. Often, an early scan shows more than one baby, usually twins, but there is only one baby at a later appointment.
In a chat with OK! Magazine, Briony exclaimed: "It's a girl! ". She shared: "I had a strong feeling that it was a boy, right from the start I was so sure. We even picked out a boy's name.
"So discovering we were having a girl was a surprise. It makes me think maybe the twin we lost was a boy."
Sam has been a fixture on the ITV soap playing Chesney since 2003.
