Sarah Barlow is set to reach out to Damon Hay amid Bethany Platt's harrowing botched surgery storyline in Coronation Street next week.

Sarah's daughter Bethany is currently in hospital after developing sepsis due to a botched liposuction treatment in Turkey.

The devastating consequences of the procedure have meant Bethany will have to wear a stoma bag due to bowel damage, as well as mounting financial costs for her surgery and hospital stay.

Stuck in Turkey until they could pay Bethany's medical bills, Sarah turned to her ex-husband Adam Barlow in desperation, but he was left enraged to discover her former lover Damon had also reached out to help.

Listening to a voicemail left by Damon, he learned the address of a secret lock-up containing money Sarah could use to help Bethany, but Adam kept this information from Sarah.

In upcoming scenes, Adam discusses Damon's hidden money with Daniel Osbourne, who previously tried to set up a crowdfunding campaign to get Bethany home.

Unfortunately, Daniel failed to include that the surgery was elective and not surgical, meaning he technically lied on the page and the fundraiser was invalid.

Adam eventually calls Sarah, admitting Damon has offered to pay Bethany's medical bills, having deleted the message from her phone.

These scenes air on Wednesday, October 9 and Friday, October 11.

Speaking about Sarah's feelings toward Damon now following the affair that destroyed her marriage to Adam and Damon's imprisonment, actor Tina O'Brien said: "I think she'll always have a little bit of something for Damon. You know, there's just something there. I think he got her. He really, really understood her, and he didn't judge her for anything.

"I feel like if they had the opportunity, they could have been completing themselves together. And I think she understands that whatever happens, he's got her back and I think she really trusts him."

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
