Coronation Street star Sue Cleaver has shared a disappointing experience after swapping the UK for sunnier climes.

The actress, who is best known for playing Eileen Grimshaw on the cobbles, recently took on her "dream" job. Sue, 60, played Mother Superior in the stage production of the smash hit show, Sister Act: The Musical for a spell earlier this year.

During an appearance on ITV's Lorraine back in March, Sue spoke about the role and what it means for her Corrie character. When asked if she would be returning to the cobbles, Sue said: "Yes absolutely. I have a few months grace to do this job then I'll be back in there."

She finished Sister Act last month but she doesn't appear to be filming at the moment, as Sue has shared stunning photos on Instagram as she has taken a trip abroad. And while her surroundings look serene, the actress took to social media on Friday to share her disappointment.

Speaking to the camera as she stood in the water, Sue said: "You know sometimes I think the sea likes to show us who's in charge, but it's certainly not us. Because it's just swallowed my flip flops."

Pointing into the distance she added: "They're out there somewhere", before returning the camera to her face and letting out a huge sigh.
