Yahoo News Police turn away walkers who breached lockdown restrictions to drive from London to Snowdonia
Police had to send home 10 people who breached lockdown restrictions to travel 245 miles from London to North Wales to go walking.
The group, who travelled in two separate vehicles, made the five-hour journey on Sunday but were stopped by police near their destination on the A5 in Bethesda.
Sharing the news on Twitter, North Wales Police said the group had been told to go home immediately and were escorted back to the A55 by a police roads policing unit.

The force tweeted: “A group of 10 stopped in 2 vehicles on A5 #Bethesda earlier, having travelled from London with the intent of going for a walk in Snowdonia.
“Told to return home immediately and escorted back to the A55 by @NWPRPU. Reported for breaching #COVID19 legislation. #StayHome.”

The incident wasn’t the only one police in Wales had to deal with on Sunday.
In a second incident dealt, staff from a hotel challenged a man from Cumbria seen returning to his car after he had walked up Mount Snowdon.

According to a tweet by North Wales Police, he was abusive when challenged, claiming the regulations did not apply to him.
Police said a joint Cheshire and North Wales armed police unit traced his car and stopped him on the A55 where he was reported for also breaching the lockdown regulations.
