Pubs and restaurants will have to close at 10pm under tighter restrictions to combat coronavirus, prime minister Boris Johnson will announce tomorrow.

The prime minister is due to confirm the changes in parliament before making a televised address to the nation at 9pm.

It came after the coronavirus threat level for the UK was increased from three to four - meaning transmission of the virus is "high or rising exponentially".

The UK’s chief advisers warned that more than 200 daily deaths would be possible by October if infections continued to double on a weekly basis.
