• An article about the unveiling of a blue plaque to John Gielgud said the actor had a theatre named after him in 1953. It was actually 1994 when the Globe Theatre in London’s West End had its name changed to the Gielgud Theatre (Get off the sofa and learn your Shakespeare, Dench tells young actors, 28 April, page 3).

• An article about forthcoming elections (Labour ‘to lose hundreds of local council seats’ across Britain, 26 April, page 9) referred to “the first ‘metro mayors’ in the West Midlands, Greater Manchester and Liverpool”. To clarify: the last of those three metro mayoralties is for the Liverpool city region, which includes the city itself as well as the surrounding local authority areas of Wirral, Sefton, Knowsley, St Helens, and Halton.
