With Nathan Curtis's trial now just a week away, Corrie is revisiting Bethany's dark grooming storyline over the next few days. When Bethany discovers that Nathan's sidekick Mel Maguire is now homeless, she takes pity on her by inviting her back to the Platt house.

Mel finally explains the full details of her own traumatic history with Nathan and why she doesn't want to testify against him, even though her evidence would probably be enough to see him sent down.

Don't be too fooled by Mel, though. Let's not forget those dramatic paparazzi pictures showing that she'll soon be kidnapping Bethany on the day of the trial. Surely this means Mel's visit to the Street is all part of a wider plan? With Nathan and his gang still possibly pulling the strings, has Bethany been duped again?

2. EastEnders: James Willmott-Brown is drawn back to the Square (Friday at 8pm on BBC One)

Some clever EastEnders fans managed to rumble Willmott-Brown's surprise return to the show at the eleventh hour, but it was still a big surprise to see original actor William Boyde back in the role when he made his comeback on Friday night after 25 years away from the show.

So far we know that Willmott-Brown is the brains behind Max Branning's unholy alliance with Weyland & Co, but EastEnders bosses have also told us that Willmott-Brown is out for revenge against Kathy Beale – blaming her for ruining his life when he was sent to prison for raping her all those years ago.

Taking time out from plotting against the Carters, Willmott-Brown pays a secret visit to local café Kathy's after hours this Friday – giving an early hint of where his interests still lie. How long will it take before Kathy discovers that he's back?

3. Emmerdale: Emma Barton is pushed to the edge (Wednesday at 7pm on ITV)

Whoever thought Gabby Thomas's return to Emmerdale would spark so much drama? The teenager is drawn into the show's biggest ongoing storyline when she decides to teach Emma a lesson for messing with her family. Hitting Emma where it hurts, Gabby tries to leave her spooked with messages and warning signs that are supposedly from Em's late husband James.

It doesn't take long before Emma discovers who's really to blame for her woes – and as Emmerdale star Samantha Giles (Bernice) teased in a TV interview recently, this sets the ball rolling for some explosive drama to come as we edge closer to Emma's inevitable comeuppance. We can't wait!

4. Hollyoaks: Darren fears for his family's safety (Wednesday and Thursday at 6.30pm on Channel 4)

Thanks to Hollyoaks' recent autumn trailer, we know that Darren Osborne won't be staying behind bars for too long – but there's certainly plenty of drama to come before his release. After getting into some trouble with his fellow prison inmates, Darren is adamant that he doesn't want the kids to visit him in case they become targets too.

Unfortunately, nobody bothers to pass the message onto Tom Cunningham, who's oblivious to the possible danger when he takes little Charlie along to see Darren. Sure enough, Darren's family get hassled by the other prisoners and things turn nasty in the visiting room. Could this unsettling incident affect things for the Osbornes on the outside world too?

5. Neighbours: Elly dumps Mark (Friday at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5)

Do we finally have our answer on who Mark Brennan is going to end up with in the long-run? Over the past few weeks, we've seen Elly Conway and Paige Smith become love rivals for the local copper, with Elly triumphing last week when Paige missed her chance to declare her feelings for him.

Elly won't be smiling for long though, as she still can't help feeling that she's far more invested in the relationship than Mark is. When Susan advises Elly to cut Mark loose if he doesn't make her happy, the feisty schoolteacher decides to do exactly that and dumps him. Does that pave the way for a #Park reunion sooner or later?

6. Coronation Street: Gary cheats on Sarah (Friday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV)

It's no secret that the Windass family will be drawn back into Pat Phelan's web over the coming weeks, so could this be the incident that causes all the trouble? Gary recently bonded with Phelan's daughter Nicola when they had a chance meeting at a bar in town, but he was horrified to later discover her true identity and warned her to stay away.

Surprisingly though, it's Gary who's doing the chasing this week as he confides in Nicola for a second time following an argument with Sarah about his strange behaviour. Giving into temptation, Gary makes a move on Nicola and ends up sleeping with her.

Thanks to that recent spoiler of a shock pregnancy for Nicola, we know exactly what this story is leading up to – with a new war bound to be brewing between Phelan and the Windasses as a result.

7. EastEnders: Stacey and Martin hit the rocks (Tuesday and Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One)

Martin Fowler is released from prison this week after his short sentence for attacking a police officer, but it's far from a happy family reunion for him and Stacey.

When Martin and Stacey learn that baby Arthur is at high risk of getting Brugada syndrome, it leaves Martin thoughtful over the pressures on their family – and Stacey in particular.

Martin confides in his sister Michelle about how having another baby may have been a mistake in light of the troubles they're already facing, but Stacey is furious to overhear him being so brutally honest and struggles to forgive him. Is their marriage in trouble?

8. Emmerdale: Robert's scheming takes a new twist (Monday and Thursday at 7pm on ITV)

Is there no end to Robert Sugden's ruthless schemes? In the past week alone, we've seen him trick Lawrence into thinking that they slept together – and somehow use anagram skills to claim 30% of Home Farm. Never one to rest on his laurels, next on Rob's agenda is shutting down Lachlan White and his suspicions.

Knowing that Lachlan poses the biggest threat to his masterplan, Robert plants a hidden camera at Home Farm and is delighted to overhear the teen talking to Gerry about his prostitute secret from the summer. Knowing he has dirt he can now use against Lachlan, what will Robert's next move be?

9. Hollyoaks: Cleo hides a secret (Thursday and Friday at 6.30pm on Channel 4)

New couple Cleo and Joel are making some big plans for the future this week, as Cleo is hit with a sudden desire to travel after receiving a picture from her absent sister Porsche. Afterwards, she focuses her efforts onto finding a job for Joel and a voluntary position in Tanzania catches their eye.

Even though all of this was Cleo's idea, Holly suspects that she's not as enthusiastic about Tanzania as Joel is, and her theory seems to be bang on the money when she later finds her friend crying in her bedroom. What's caused Cleo's sudden change of heart?

10. Home and Away: Kat gives into temptation with Ash (Wednesday at 1.15pm and 6pm on Channel 5)

A new Summer Bay romance could be on the cards as Kat finally calls time on her relationship with Ash, admitting that it's just not working between them. With mystery man Robbo on hand to offer Kat some support in the aftermath, the inevitable happens as their chemistry leads to a passionate kiss.

Although Robbo is delighted by Kat's interest, she soon changes her mind by brushing off her actions as a mistake that won't happen again. But is she only kidding herself with her cold attitude?
