Congratulations are in order for Coronation Street's Melanie Hill who tied the knot with her partner Jim Daly in an intimate ceremony on Saturday.

Melanie – who plays kebab shop worker Cathy Matthews on the ITV soap – married film producer Jim Daly in North London yesterday (April 29), after more than a decade together.

The couple exchanged vows in a mod-inspired wedding ceremony at a pub in Muswell Hill, North London, with The Mirror reporting that around 30 guests attended the ceremony – although none of the cast of Coronation Street were spotted at the event.

This is Hill's second wedding, having previously been married to Game of Thrones actor Sean Bean for seven years.

The former couple married in 1990 and had daughters Lorna, 29, and Molly, 25, before they divorced in 1997.

Melanie and Jim are long-term friends, who first met when he directed the 1996 football film When Saturday Comes, starring Melanie and her ex-husband Sean.

It also looks like Melanie's love life is finally looking up in Coronation Street too, as her character Cathy may just have a new love interest in the form of Brian Peckham, following the breakdown of her relationship with Roy Cropper last year.

All's well that ends well, eh?

Coronation Street airs on ITV.
