There's nothing more annoying than Corrie characters inexplicably believing the wrong person whenever there's a supervillain on the loose, so we're glad to report that Faye Windass finally sees the light when it comes to Pat Phelan this week.

When Faye's jailed mum Anna gets admitted to hospital and takes the opportunity to escape from custody, word quickly gets back to the Street that she's on the run. Phelan couldn't appear any more smug as he realises how much trouble his arch-nemesis is now in – and Faye catches a telling glimpse of his triumphant expression.

After quizzing Phelan on exactly what's been going on between him and Anna, Faye realises that her mum has been telling the truth about his evil ways all along. Sadly for Faye, getting other people to believe it proves to be quite a tricky task. Now she knows how Anna felt.

2. Emmerdale: Who killed Emma? (Thursday at 7pm and 8pm on ITV)

It had all gone slightly quiet with Emmerdale's big whodunit plot, but the storyline is back at centre stage all this week in the build-up to the truth being revealed on Thursday. When Emma's family gather for her funeral, which is snubbed by most of the village, tensions are running high and there's a sense of foreboding that casts a shadow over the day.

While Emma is being mourned in the present day, Emmerdale will treat us to a series of new flashbacks revealing exactly what happened when she died. Viewers will be let in on the secret of who the culprit was, but will the police also crack the case?

3. EastEnders: Josh teams up with Lauren (Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One)

Proving that he didn't inherit the Willmott-Brown evil gene (a soap miracle!), Josh shows where his loyalties really lie this week by turning against his father for good. Disgusted by the trail of destruction caused by his family's immoral ambitions, Josh asks for Lauren's help as he tries to steal some incriminating files from his dad's computer.

While Lauren gets to work on distracting Willmott-Brown and Fi from returning to the office too quickly, Josh searches for the evidence he needs to destroy his dad's plans. We've been told that a comeuppance is on the way for Willmott-Brown – could Josh be the one to cause it?

4. Hollyoaks: Tony reaches breaking point over Harry's secret (Tuesday at 7pm on E4 / Wednesday at 6.30pm on Channel 4)

As the Amy Barnes murder storyline continues to rumble on, tormented Tony is still stressing himself out over having a killer for a son. (Don't worry Tone, it was Duncan from Blue whodunit!) Tony warns James Nightingale that he can't keep quiet about Harry's guilt for much longer, but the slippery solicitor is still determined to help Harry and wants Tony to keep his mouth shut.

Tony's inner turmoil doesn't go unnoticed by his wife Diane, who even starts to wonder if he's having an affair behind her back. Will Tony set Diane straight? And if he does, will Diane be the one to expose Harry's dark secret?

5. Coronation Street: Chesney shows his dark side (Friday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV)

The usually kind-hearted Chesney is starting to play dirty in the fight for Sinead. Not only does he propose to his girlfriend in front of Daniel to wind him up, he also later spreads malicious lies about his love rival by accusing him of deliberately giving him food poisoning at the Bistro.

Given Daniel's reputation for random acts of violence, Ches is certainly playing with fire and Sinead is horrified when she later finds her fiancée covered in blood following his latest clash with Ken's son. Has Chesney pushed Daniel over the edge again?

6. EastEnders: Ian vs Willmott-Brown (Tuesday at 7.30pm on BBC One)

It's not just Josh that Willmott-Brown needs to worry about this week – Ian Beale is also on the warpath as he decides that the villain's bad behaviour can't go unpunished. Ian initially seeks some advice from Phil Mitchell on how to get rid of the villain for good, but he ends up taking matters into his own hands by arranging a meeting with Willmott-Brown.

Willmott-Brown reacts to Ian's visit in his usual sly style, trying to cast doubts on Kathy's version of events. Ian stands firm and refuses to be swayed so easily, but will things get out of hand as tensions mount?

Moira reaches her lowest point when she considers drastic measures to help her sleep. When her doctor refuses to prescribe sleeping medication, Moira is left in total despair – so much so that she even finds herself looking through Holly's old mobile phone for an alternative solution.

After finding the number for Holly's old dealer, Moira arranges a meeting with him and he agrees to sell her some pills. We never thought we'd see the day that Moira would end up on the same dark path as her tragic daughter – is this just the beginning of her downward spiral?

8. Hollyoaks: Milo is told to explain himself (Thursday at 7pm on E4 / Friday at 6.30pm on Channel 4)

Milo Entwistle's big secret could finally be under threat this week when Tom Cunningham spots his creepy back tattoo and realises that the family's lodger could be hiding something big. After a little bit of detective work, Tom and Holly are shocked to discover that Milo has been lying to them about his identity ever since moving in.

Milo has some serious explaining to do when Tom and Holly quiz him on what he's up to, but is it time to finally come clean about how he killed Tom's parents? Or can he wriggle his way out of trouble once more?
