Coronation Street's Shona Ramsey has the perfect chance to reveal her true identity to David Platt next week, but will she take it?
While David's mum Gail now knows the truth, Shona is determined to keep everyone else in the dark – well aware that being honest would only cause trouble for everyone.
Next week, there's devastating news for Shona when she hears that Clayton has been hospitalised following a huge fight in the Youth Offenders' Institute.
As Shona rushes off to find out more, David's reaction couldn't be any more different as he decides to celebrate the news that Clayton might not pull through – heading straight to the pub in a good mood. Typical David!
Later on, Shona finds David in a drunken state outside The Rovers and she even plays hero by pushing him out of the way of an oncoming car.
When the pair then sit together on the very same cobbles where Kylie died, will Shona bite the bullet and decide that it's time to tell David the truth?
Julia Goulding, who plays Shona, revealed: "Shona feels very awkward about her secret and more so whenever Gail is around, because she is very aware that Gail has a hawk eye on her.
"It's a Catch 22 because she feels relieved that someone knows, but she also feels guilty that it is David's mum and that she has to keep her secret.
"Shona has been struggling with her secret since the beginning, before she even knew who David was. So now she is being pulled in loads of different directions."
Shona's chance to come clean to David comes just a couple of days after they've spent a pleasant afternoon together at Billy Mayhew's bring and buy sale.
Julia added: "That's the first time that Shona has warmed to David since she found out about his plans to suicide bomb Clayton's prison van. The reason for that is that the kids are there and she does care about the kids.
"She is very confused about her feelings for David. On top of any feelings that may or may not be there, there's a layer of guilt and a layer of self protection and a layer of stress from keeping this secret. So if she does have feelings for him, it's all buried very deep."
Coronation Street airs these scenes on Friday, May 12 at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
