Corrie confirms devastating drugs relapse for Abi Webster

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street has confirmed that Abi Webster will experience a sad drugs relapse next week, as she struggles to cope with the aftermath of her betrayal being revealed.

In scenes airing this week, Abi (Sally Carman) confesses to Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) that she cheated on husband Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) late last year. She begs Sally not to tell Kevin the truth but, unfortunately for Abi, he finds out anyway when he overhears an incriminating phone call between her and Sally.

Next week, Abi is in self-destruct mode again following the sudden breakdown of her relationship with Kevin.

Imran Habeeb (Charlie De Melo) – whose identity as Abi's one-night stand still remains a secret from the other cobbles residents – and his new fiancée Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) decide to celebrate their engagement over dinner in the Bistro next week.

When Toyah discovers an engagement ring buried in her pudding, she assures Imran that she is thrilled with the ring and slips it onto her finger.

Meanwhile, Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) takes Abi into the Bistro office and gently explains that Kevin has asked her to pass on a message to Abi – he wants her gone before he returns home.

When distraught Abi then sees Toyah showing off her engagement ring, she is scathing over the situation and Toyah is taken aback.

Later in the week, Abi tearfully packs up her things at No.13, preparing to leave her home behind. She soon heads to Victoria Garden and sits alone, swigging vodka and scrolling through photos of her late son, Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni).

When Toyah stumbles across Abi knocking back the vodka, she is concerned to see her in such a bad way and urges her to visit a support group. Abi agrees to go to one, simply to shut Toyah up.

Later on, Abi introduces Toyah to her friend Dean, claiming that he is her sponsor and that he's agreed to help her overcome her addiction. Toyah is delighted to hear that Abi is taking steps toward recovery.
