Coronation Street fans were left devastated tonight (September 11) as Sinead Tinker receives the worst possible news.
After discovering a lump on her neck earlier in the week while getting ready for her wedding ceremony, Sinead goes in for a scan. While Daniel Osbourne thinks things are fine and looks forward to their mini-honeymoon, they receive a call from the hospital.
That is when they are told that Sinead's cancer has has spread to both her lymph nodes and liver, and that she has 4 months at most left to live.
Sinead states that the cancer has spread because she delayed her chemotherapy, while Daniel convinced her that if she didn't, she would never have brought baby Bertie into the world.
After returning back to the street, the pair tell Ken, Adam, Peter and Beth the news. Back at their house, Daniel tries to plan things for them to do before she dies, but a distraught Sinead is struggling to cope.
While fans have known that actress Katie McGlynn is leaving the soap for a while, and that Sinead will sadly pass away, viewers at home were still heartbroken by the storyline and powerful performances from the actors.

McGlynn recently told Digital Spy and others that she didn't realise how much of an impact her story would have on people.
"So far I have had so many messages from young women who have gone for their smears because of what they've seen on screen and they've found pre-cancerous cells which is really saving someone's life," she said.
"I'm not saying I am superwoman but it's really humbling to hear something like that."
Going forward, filming photos have reveals that Daniel will spiral out of control and into heavy drinking, after being seen drinking in tonight's episode.
